Get to know the Archer team
Meet some of the fast-thinking, hardworking Archer associates who drive our success.
I used to be very title driven, linking success with leveling up professionally in our industry. More recently, success has been about the balance between work and life – winning in all places. I think this shift informs my leadership. It’s important to me that my team likes what they do, that they have a path, they have goals, and they feel heard.
As a new dad, I look to my own dad as an example of a great leadership. Growing up, I worked for him at his construction business, and many lessons stuck with me: always be on time, never rush the job, follow through, deliver a quality product, and honor your customer.
As a Business Analyst, I identify opportunities for process improvements to make other teams’ lives easier. Mostly we’re automating processes and building in fail-safe programming. Working at Archer is my first job out of college! I went to Drexel and graduated right into COVID. I originally started at Archer doing Cash Flows, and after a year I started asking for other opportunities. I had already floated some ideas around about our processes and got an interview with our AVP of Business Analysis. This role is a great fit for me – I feel good when I’m producing and providing value.
As Head of Risk, I work with all teams to understand the way they are accomplishing their work and ensure any identified risks are adequately controlled by building stronger processes.
Throughout my career I’ve been inspired by vibrant, fierce, unforgiving, determined women, and I’m fortunate to have many in my life. I have seen all these women challenge gender bias in their careers and personal lives, and it inspires me to challenge those around me about what a diverse and inclusive workplace looks like. In order to stay motivated, I try focusing on the progress that has been made, even if it is small. Each small change is a step forward in a better direction and if those small steps keep happening, soon you will find yourself miles from where you were, having accomplished so much.
I oversee the Account Services portion of our Operations team. I manage around 12 people on the team, helping them to streamline processes, support client requests, and address issues and concerns. I stay motivated by my desire to have work done. I’m the same way at home — it bothers me if things aren’t wrapped up and completed at the end of the day. So I always make a list at night — it bugs me otherwise. And when I wake up, those are the things I do first.
As an Account Executive, I assist prospective clients in evaluating Archer as a potential solution to solve problems and help grow their business. Listening, more than telling, and solutioning, more than selling, are key to building the relationships that make my job fulfilling and successful.
Centering myself before a long day is also key. I value living by the ocean and even though I work from home, which doesn’t require a commute, taking a walk before sitting down at my desk helps mentally and physically. So, I start my day by walking to the shore, observing the tide, sounds, and smells, and throwing a stone back in.
